May 7: "Fairy-tale"

From @bhagsy:
"Fairy tales, do you believe in fairy tales...?"

The music blasts in the background. As I sit enjoying the scenery, I suddenly notice him walking down the stairs. Unable to believe my eyes I stare at him & giggle. "Hi" he says, "hi" I say, smiling like an idiot.

This must be a fairy tale, because we will never be.

From @cernoblog:
Bugger has the balls to come out of the closet at the batch reunion. Impressing wives we insecure hetro machans brought to the ego joust with stories of ordeals and triumphs. Already a book (Funny Boy 2.0?), awaiting western awards.

Mrs trophy wife: "What's it called?".

"Fairy tales" mutters a resentful voice before he answers.

From @shamsmakkiya:
He sang... She sang... He sang... She sang... in alluring melancholy voices.
Pangs of nostalgia breezed in the silent atmosphere.
The buried fairy-tale reincarnated in an enthralling phantasmagoria.
Souls intermingled beyond separation.

From Saumya Fernando:
So all the king’s horses and all the king’s men continued to rule the land. The rich lived comfortable corrupt lives.  The poor didn't have much of a choice. Everyone complained, cried, cursed and did very little. The people of the land lived on like this ever after. No one could put it together again.

From @wikifreakz:
The moment she touched the spindle, she fell into a deep slumber..
'ZZZ.. ZZZ..'
*
Hundred years passed.
A prince came from a faraway kingdom.
Climbed up to the balcony; saw the sleeping beauty; kissed..
Alas... Anesthesia made the poor prince faint..
Er.. How come one could survive kissing someone who hadn't brushed
teeth for ages?!

From Priyanthie de Silva:
The diamond studded pendant shone on her bosom. It was the latest gift her husband had given her. His philandering was common knowledge & so was his custom of giving his wife a gift, each time he was unfaithful. In her naivete, she believed his fairy tales, about how much he loved giving her gifts.

From Tristan Kube:
The spotlight turned search light in a matter of seconds, and I knew the fairy-tale had ended. Hurriedly I scanned faces to see if they’d noticed any difference.
I had pulled off a most amazing feat; soiling my pants, in front of an audience, on my first ever play.. Boy, am I a star!

From @Mari_deSilva:
Everyone loves a good fairytale. Our childhoods wouldn’t have been the same without them. Just when you think you’ve outgrown them, you realize that it’s everything your heart yearns for. Living it, you realize it’s never as great as you imagined it. Maybe that’s why a fairytale should remain within the confines of two covers.

From @PennyKinned:
“Fairy-tale life”, they said in envious voices, visions of splendour and grand love floating around in their heads. All that came to her mind, though, was the savagery of the old stories. Being locked in a tower, a stepmother who wanted her beauty and her heart, being kissed without consent, and monsters. Monsters everywhere.
