April 3: Charm

From @TheRoundedCube:
The darkness of pandemonium.
A victorious king crushed darkness.
The King now charming, charm from victory.
Glorified by all.

But Kings of darkness prefer darkness.
The Kings of darkness rule through anarchy.

Eclipsing the sun as it rises after darkness.

A people charmed by darkness.
All families charmed by the Royal family.
A nation charmed.

From @Mari_deSilva:
It was his charm that won him the girl. Winning over her family sealed the deal. He found everything he yearned for in them. Nestled in their love, he was happy at last. But, an apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree they warned. So it was his charm that lost him the girl.

From Shi_dreams:
The orchestra struck up another tune as she walked down the stairs leading to the ballroom, her perfectly coiffed head thrown back and her long dress flowing behind her. Sensing her presence, heads spun around to watch her enter. Her eyes twinkling she smiled, acknowledging their stares and continued her descent holding her observers captive.

From @yasirnasir:
It worked every time. As he stood in the corner, all alone, with nothing but an empty look, staring into nothingness, she couldn’t help but notice him. The way his hair fell over his face, it almost tugged at her heart. She walked upto him, touched his face, leaned forward and hugged him. It worked.

From @HalikAzeez:
I can tap into the secret signals of your lashes. The beam of your glance guides the ship of my desires through the treacherous waters.

Creak… CRAK! CRASH.

I tumble into ice cold water, deceived by a wrecker’s beam.

All charm is illusion; I should have listened to my mother.

From @bhagsy:
She sighed. She didn’t know what he saw in her. Everyone was saying that he was awed by her. But she wasn’t sure why. Her hand unconsciously went up to her neck and started stroking the pendent. It was a gift from him proof of from when their friendship was not complicated.

From @S_Zee_U:
It was a mixture of colors, beads and coins. She had been gazing at it for some time now.
"Daddy..."
 I knew it was coming.
"Can i have that charm bracelet too?"
What I dreaded was voiced.
She is just 13. How can i explain that i just bought dinner with all what i had?

From @PennkyKinned:
The coy flirting, the feather-light touches on his hand, her sparkling laughter, the endless banter.

“She’s the one,” he thought, and he gave her his heart. She took it, her smile turning jagged. Too late, he saw the bracelet – two murky hearts dangling on a silver chain.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “Third one’s the charm.”

From @huz152:
"Quite a charming chap" she said, little did she know the troubles that lurked under the murky waters. Little did she know what a Monster he turned into by night. I have to quit drinking he thought. It is now or never. Sadly when night time approached he was back to his normal ways.

From @Marianne_David:
Addict.

I used to watch you, enraptured, you beautiful boy. You were always so charming at first. Later, unpredictably violent. Even later, grovelling, apologetic; quite pathetic, really. I was always framed in fear, knowing each successive step; charred by charm, knowing it was unleashed by the drug coursing through your veins.

From @tharahewage:
The look on his face said it all. She has once again captured her next victim. I warned him of the dangers but like the others her charm was just too irresistible. She was my master, a perfect but heartless creature. I couldn’t do much but get prepared to clean up a blood-less body tomorrow.

From @rami_desh:
Young, boisterous, and handsome, he oozed confidence as he spoke sweet nothings in her ear.

Behind him, he held the knife, it oozed red droplets from his last victim, alluding to the dark heart within. A heart twisted beyond recognition, blackened and charred by years of darkness.

From @MSGabriel9:
It is all we need. Magical words to heal the brokenness. But enchantment wears off. We need more than magic. We need supernatural words but yet not magical ones. We need lasting solutions – where can we find such? I think I know. I can give you direction. Follow the risen one.

From @sharasekaram:
“You’re beautiful”
“I know”
“Really? How”
“It’s called a mirror. And when enough people tell you – you figure it out”
“Well people should tell you all the time”
“They do”
“You’re very sure of yourself”

She blew out the smoke and smiled a red-lipsticked smile before answering, “It’s part of my charm”

From The AdMan:
How to get away when a cop stops you for some offense or other: Pull over and ask for directions to some place or other. Go in to the minutest detail. With all the new one-way roads in Colombo, it should be easy. Then thank him and drive off. Works like a charm, every time.

From @Dili:
“Your Putha has the evil eye. “ said the kapu mahattaya.  “I’ll make a charm for Rs 5000?”

As she took her ill child back home, the weary mother contemplated yet another month of salt and rice for her family.

Only the Devas heard chuckles mingled with the sound of thousand rupee notes rubbing together.

From Raisa:
His smile is silver as he surveys her.
‘Better make her sweat,’ he thinks.
On cue, the phone rings.
‘This is the Minister.’ Minutes pass.
‘Sorry. You were saying?’
‘What do you say to accusations that you’ve assaulted two journalists?’
‘Dear, if that were my handiwork, I’d have done a better job!’ he laughs. ‘Coffee?’

From Saumya Fernando:
Maybe you do it for money but I doubt poverty justifies it. A clothed animal pulled on a long string, cutting into its weak neck, the reptile suffocating in a miniature reed box. I apologize for my curtness but your “nalaawa” is futile. Snakes don’t hear. Everyone knows that. So what charm do you use?

From @himalkk:
“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you.”
“Anything?”
“Shut up, Ed.”
“Good to see you too, officer! It’s been a wh – ow! Will you watch it with those cuffs?!”
“If you say one more word, I swear…”
“Kinky! You get that haircut just for me?”

From Senel_W:
On that fine day, I realized that I maybe in love with her.
It felt like a charm.
The air smelled like love.

I found myself attempting to flash my un-practiced awkward smile randomly during the rest of the evening. I hoped that she would see me, wherever she was. I hoped she’d notice.

From @LadyZahara:
The sun rose through the thin mist, forming a rainbow curving into the pond. This beauty charmed the forlorn observer. Her heart felt light with new hope filling inside. She washed her face with the cold water and felt refreshed knowing that, this beauty conveyed many reasons to live for. She walked lightly with confidence.

From Tristan Kube:
“Some sort of VOODOO SHIT!!”

My cousin reverberated the last words of my sentence in a half amused, half mock fashion. I knew damn well he was not going to believe that story when I said it. Heck, to be really honest, I’m not sure I did either. Yet,

it beat being fucking cheated on.

From Scipio:
Groggily, he stirred. Try as he might, he could remember nothing but the despair and hopelessness in her eyes. Shame and regret seared him like a flame. With a hand suddenly made steady with anticipation, he found his half empty tumbler from last night.

“Tomorrow is the charm”, he whispered silently and started sipping.

From @wikifreakz:
‘Love you,' she whispered charmingly as they were dancing under the full moon to the symphony of the crickets..
Drac holded the torso solemnly..
'Ding dong.. Ding dong..' The sound of Cathedral bells began to ring..
'The hour has come,' thought he.
Drac couldn't control his impulse, his gasp for blood.
Now he hugged her tightly; sniffed her neck passionately and bit fiercely.
'Ouch,' he yelled as the fang broken, 'you humanoid?'
